A place for families, neighbors and friends to gather together in a serene environment that inspires spiritual growth and encourages Christian values.

A Special Place
No one relocates to the mountains without giving serious consideration to the conveniences that they will be leaving behind in the more developed cities and suburbs - shopping malls, convenience stores, and fast food restaurants, to name a few. But most of us choose to make our home in the mountains because of the positive effect that doing so has on our families, our lives and our faith.

Church of the Woods offers three Sunday morning services as well as activities and events almost every day of the week. Still, we find that there remains a gap in suitable facilities for hosting family-friendly recreational and cultural activities on the hill. Through the years, community members have expressed their desire for recreational amenities, playgrounds, picnic areas, a youth center, meeting facilities and adequate parking.

Since one of the most effective ways to reach people with the message of Jesus Christ is through real and relevant acts of service, we want to be actively involved in our community, building authentic relationships and showing the love of God in word and deed.

Our new campus will be a visible expression of our love for people! We want to partner with other churches and organizations to help meet critical needs for our youth, our children, our families and our community.

Site Specifics
Sonrise on the Mountain will be a multi-use area in Rim Forest, just west of Daley Canyon Road. Our plan includes space not just for Church of the Woods' community members but for anyone who wants to enjoy a safe place for recreation and fellowship.

We want Sonrise on the Mountain to be a community destination. To that end, countless hours went into developing this plan. We want the facility to be a place where everyone feels welcome, where friends and neighbors can get together to enjoy one another's company, and where God's love will be felt in a beautiful, comfortable environment.
