Worship Ministry

Kiki Oleson, Worship Leader

Shortly after coming on staff in 2004, I was praying for a way to express my heart in regard to our worship ministry. The following is a brief overview of a growing vision of what worship can be in the church:

Why Worship? – G.U.M.T.

Glorify
Our first priority in worship will always be to glorify God. He is worthy of all praise, honor and glory.
Unify When we worship God together, there is a unity that is created amongst His people. This unity enables us to get to the next step…
Magnify The Bible tells us to “magnify the Lord.” When we are unified in this purpose of glorifying Him through worship, His power and majesty are manifested in ever-expanding and powerful ways, both in our midst and on the earth. This leads us to the last point…
Testify

When the body of Christ is united in praise, with our hearts set upon our great God, we are transformed. Our lives tell a story and our hearts will be filled with compassion and determination to rescue the perishing and bring the lost into the knowledge of God.

Glorify, Unify, Magnify and Testify
This goes way beyond just the 20 minutes of music before the sermon on a Sunday morning. Worship is an outflow of a surrendered life – a life that finds its source daily at the foot of the cross and its power through the work of the Holy Spirit.

It is my heart’s desire and passion to see this played out in the life of our church. Worship Him with your whole life, and then bring that personal, daily experience into the fellowship of believers and just see how the corporate worship experience comes alive when individual, surrendered lives lift their voices to the Almighty God!

Audio Visual Ministry

The Church of the Woods' Audio Visual Ministry is spearheaded by Troy Black. He and his team not only record the weekly sermon video, but they upload and post the message to this website, so folks on the mountain and all over the world can hear the Truth of God's Word. The Audio/Visual team also records CDs, which are available for order.
