I. The Lord has need for you to obey
* The disciples had learned to obey Jesus when He speaks!
- When He approached Bethphage and Bethany, near the mount that is called Olivet, He sent two of the disciples, saying, "Go into the village ahead of you; there, as you enter, you will find a colt tied on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, "Why are you untying it"? you shall say, "The Lord has need of it." (Luke 19).
- So those who were sent went away and found it just as He had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" They said, "The Lord has need of it." (Luke 19:32-34; see Matthew 21:6).
II. The Lord has need for you to give
* The unnamed owners give to the Lord immediately!
- If anyone says to you, "Why are you doing this?" you say, "The Lord has need of it," and immediately he will send it back here. They went away and found a colt tied at the door, outside in the street; and they untied it. Some of the bystanders were saying to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?" They spoke to them just as Jesus had told them, and they gave them permission (Mark 11:3-6).
- In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35).
III. The Lord has need for you to worship
* People shouted Hosanna in the highest to the King!
- They brought the colt to Jesus and put their coats on it, and He sat on it. And many spread their coats in the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. Those who went in front and those who followed were shouting: "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord; Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David; Hosanna in the highest!" (Mark 11:7-10).
- But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:23, 24).

Life Group Flow and Discussion Questions
The Lord has need of you
An important Guideline of Life Groups: Take time to discuss the final Passion Week of Jesus' earthly life with your group. How does this demonstrate His great love for us and His desire to use us for His purposes?
Getting Started:
- How do you explain the irony that the Lord would need anything (Psalm 50:10-12)? Why do you think He chooses to use us?
- Have you obeyed the Lord by receiving Him as your Savior (John 1:12; 1 Timothy 1:15; Revelation 3:20)?
Discussing Truths:
- Why is obedience to Jesus' words a vital part of being a true disciple (Matthew 21:6; Luke 6:46)?
- What is your answer to the most important question the excited crowd asked about Jesus, "WHO IS THIS?" (Matthew 21:10; 16:13-18; Luke 5:21; 7:49).
- What does the Lord want you to give for His glory and your benefit?
- Why is faithful and generous giving to the Lord a struggle for many people (Malachi 3:8-10; Matthew 6:19-21)? What did Jesus mean in Luke 14:33
- How do you express true worship of Jesus our King, our Messiah, our Lord and our Master? Why does Jesus invite and welcome worship of Himself?
- Why do you think some of the crowd caved to the political pressure and cried out 5 days later, "Crucify Him!" Would you be willing to sacrifice comfort to stand up for Jesus and for what you believe if or when our political pressure increases?
- Read and comment on Hebrews 4:16; 7:25; 10:22 and James 4:8.
Now What? Application:
- How will you obey Jesus in your daily life with your thoughts, your attitudes, your words and your actions? Choose to worship Him every day!
- What actions or changes do you need to make to allow Jesus to transform your life (Romans 12:1, 2)? What area of your life will you focus on this week?
