The Sign of Jesus

I. Worship Jesus Verbally

1. Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name (Hebrews 13:15).

2. O clap your hands, all peoples; shout to God with the voice of joy. For the Lord Most High is to be feared, a great King over all the earth (Psalm 47:1, 2).

II. Worship Jesus in Community

1. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved (Acts 2:46, 47).

2. Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24, 25).

III. Worship Jesus Fearlessly

  1. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name (Psalm 63:3, 4).
  2. Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension (1 Timothy 2:8).
  3. Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dancing. Miriam answered them, "Sing to the Lord, for He is highly exalted; the horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea" (Exodus 15:20, 21).
  4. Don't let potential abuse prevent appropriate use!
