I. God's Unfathomable Power!

1. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us (Ephesians 3:20).

2. Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith- to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen (Romans 16:25-27; see also Jude 1:24-25).

3.Therefore I ask you not to lose heart at my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory (Ephesians 3:13)

4. And what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet (Ephesians 1:19-22a).

II. To Him be the Glory!

  1. To Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:21).
  2. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
  3. Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God (1 Corinthians 10:31-32).

Life Group Flow and Discussion Questions

Who is able

An important Guideline of Life Groups: What we believe about God impacts how we worship! Discuss the biblical teaching of how immeasurably powerful God is and how we should worship him in turn.

Getting Started:

  1. When you think about God what comes to your mind? list it out and share with your group:
  2. What are some examples from your own life (or stories you have heard) of God doing far more abundantly beyond than someone asked or imagined?

Discussing Truths:

  1. How does the knowledge of God's limitless power affect how we approach God in worship and prayer and life's challenges?
  2. What are some ways we might be limiting God in our own lives in our expectations of him?

Now What? Application:

  1. How does the church (as an assembly of believers) play a role in bringing glory to God?
  2. What are some practical ways we can live in a way that reflects God's glory to the world around us?
